About Us

The "Swiss Private Investigators Association of Former Police and Criminal Investigators (SPPK)" was founded on February 19, 1979, at Bahnhofstrasse 110 in Zurich. Forty-six years later, at the general meeting on March 28, 2025, a groundbreaking name change was decided: The association now operates under the name "Swiss Professional Association for Private Investigators and Former Police Officers (SFPP)."

This adjustment reflects the evolution of the profession. Where previously a degree from police recruit school or equivalent training was a prerequisite, we are now also specifically open to qualified investigative specialists with a solid, non-police background.

With the new name, we underscore our commitment to meeting current requirements and further advancing the professionalization of the profession. The SFPP sees itself as a strong advocate for private investigators operating nationwide.

From 2006 to 2019, Hans Ruch played a key role in shaping our association as president. Today, we are honored to call him "Honorary President"—and we are pleased that he will hopefully continue to support us in this role for a long time to come.
